I was thinking bout having surgery, cos Ive got probs with hands and face Cant say its the worst case ever but it still makes me avoid ppl sometimes and some social situations and just being outside on a sunny weather
anyway, does bottox help with face or only armpits?
all these sprays dont help they just irritate and make my skin too dry (doesnt help with sweating though hehe) As I think the problem comes from the inside it should be cured with ingection or surgery

Hmmm I would definitely take facial sweating over armpit sweating. At least you don't smell badly. Surgery would probably just redistribute the sweat over the rest of your body.

Guys facial sweating is the worse sweating you can have period! I have suffered from this condition for 16 years and it is only now I have agreed to have surgery in about 8 months time with a surgeon in Brazil. For 4-5 years my face has been the primary area.

I am female, so as you can understand, as female's are always judged constantly by their looks you can understand how I feel. I can't wear make-up without it sweating off. If I don't wear it, my face is ashen. I get spots, pimples, boils ocassionally. You name it, I have had it. Allergic skin which is sensitive to everything on the market. No skin products work without blocking pores, causing pus to build up. I have large open pores, sometimes black heads. My skin bleeds if I use stronger products with antiseptic.

For four years I have trouble with cysts growing in the groin area, which itch like mad. I now have, one there for 1 year and have to it removed. Had one removed 4 years ago, only for more to grow back. I noticed some more new ones only yesterday.

Yes, as you can gather, my skin is in pretty bad condition. The only things that will fix it are two appointments, one with the ETS surgeon and another to the beauty clinic to get rid of the terrible hyper-pigmentation. So I can get back to being the great looking girl with the chocolate complexion again. Can't go out in the heat without feeling embarrassed. Even when it is cold, my skin is clammy. I re-apply make up about 3 times.

Nope, you can't hide your face but you can hide your armpits. Funny stares don't help situations. Feeling like a lepper. Deodorants are the market for sweating arm-pits. Cannot say the same for facial HH, especailly if you have sensitve skin like I do!

I concur about facial sweating, but thats all I have generally. Sorry to hear about your problems which I totally understand and relate to. Read other similar posts on here and they might help you. There's no single cure, indeed there is no cure at all, but there is help.

BTW I love winter !!!

Newbie here and I have to agree with this statement. Axillary or palm sweating can get bid, but at least one can mask it. Its hard to hide the torrent of sweat streaking down all over your head. The problem is the more you think people are looking at it the worst it gets :(

I am at war with my sweaty head.....LoL Seriously though, I just ordered the 4% secure wipes from Pharmacy.ca. I was using the 3% and they definitely helped but did not work as well after using them for a few weeks. I am a stand-up comedian which can be tough for a person with cranial hyperhydrosis. I use the wipes along with taking proplanalol but sometimes it's just not enough. It can be so damn frustrating!!!! I'm tired of having to make jokes about it to move on. I know that most people expect to see a stand-up comedian sweat but not as much as I do. Summer is coming and my head detects even a slight increase in humidity. When I'm on stage and my head and face start sweating it doesn't stop. I wipe it away and it's back in 20 seconds. The flood gates are open!!!!

Cranial/Facial HH

I'm a newbie here too, and I agree Cranial/Facial HH is horrible! I can't say its the worst, because I don't have HH elsewhere, so I have nothing to compare it to. I sweat under my hairline and within minutes, my hair is soaked through. The heat of a blowdryer causes my head to sweat, so drying my hair is a losing battle. I've never made it through a party with a decent hairstyle because once I sweat through my hair, it just hangs limp and gross. I'm sure many of you have been through this before. Has anyone tried Botox for the scalp? My dermatologist is recommending it but we have to see if insurance will cover it. I can't really afford to do it otherwise.

I didn't know they could do Botox for the scalp. Are there any side effects? Hair loss?

I have had botox in my hands and feet which helped about 70% but they are warm not cold and wet like they used to be. I also ordered Hydrosal and had my dr. write me a prescription for aluminum chloride to mix in to up it to 35%. Now my hands are completely dry and warm. Hydrosal doesn't make your skin chapped like alcohol based products. I went to a wedding yesterday which I would advoid if at all possible because you know what happens at weddings... you guessed it ..shake your hand which is so embarrassing. this is the first time that I have enjoyed a wedding my hands and feet were dry and warm. I am wondering if all I would need is the Hydrosal with the extra aluminum chloride, but I guess I will find out in 4 to 6 months after the botox wears off. Hydrosal did not work on my hands and feet until I got the extra aluminum chloride. If you are interested in how to mix it or any thing else just let me know. Hydrosal works for the whole body. If you have botox it makes the botox last longer so maybe my botox will last longer than 4 to 6 months.

I tried the No-Sweat Lotion tonight on stage. It didn't work for me but may help in social situations. It got into my eyes a bit from the sweat. Also,
it does contain aluminum chloride which I tend to stay away from because Alzheimers runs in my family. It hasn't been proven that it can cause the disease but there are always unusually high traces of aluminum found in the patient's brain at an autopsy. Proof enough for me. I've switched deodorants as well.

My derm said the only thing was that there was a possibility of temporary drooping especially in the eyebrows if the injections were too low in the hairline. To tell you the truth, I am more worried about hairloss from the DrySol. I tried it and the first night it burned really bad for about an hour or so (I did use the blowdryer trick, but it didn't really work.) The next day it seemed to work. I didn't really sweat at all. But the next day, I had a very busy day with two parties and it didn't work at all. :( And the idea of using a roll-on product on my scalp is just so bizarre.

I just had the Botox treatment on my scalp today. It wasn't that painful, I didn't even have a block. But I did count, and it was 87 shots. The only part that really hurt was the area right above my ears. So my derm says that it could be a week or two to fully see results. But this will be a real test, as I am going to Florida for 2 weeks on Saturday. *fingers crossed*

Panic?

Does anyone find that facial sweating sometimes brings on a Panic Attack?

This happens to me, but not every time. I usually sweat alot of my face if I am doing something strenuous. But I can break out into a panic attack if I start sweating in a social situation because I am building up anxiety in my mind that I might sweat. This leads to a vicious cycle. However, Avert and the Secure Wipes have really come in handy to help with this problem.

Thanks for any input.

The Botox was a success! (At least for now...) I would have to say that the sweating on my scalp is improved about 95%. I spent the last two weeks in 95 degree (fahrenheit,) high humidity weather and the only time I really sweat was on 2 days where we were outside for long periods and the temperature on those 2 days was a million and 4 degrees. And I certainly was not the only person sweating. I did still have facial sweating (I only had the Botox on my scalp, not my face) but it doesn't bother me as much. I can just wipe it off, not like in my hair, where I would have wet hair for the rest of the day. I am so excited and I can only hope that this will last for at least a couple of months.

Congratulations Yaz!!!!! You mentioned that you had to get a lot of shots. Was that expensive?

Hey Yaz, glad it worked for you!

That's interesting because I didn't know botox could be injected on the scalp. I thought the only solution for people with scalp sweating would be oral medication but I will add botox to that list.

Romax, My insurance paid for it. I think it would have cost me about $1500 otherwise.

Pinker, We werent entirely sure that it would do anything either. :D
