Every time I leave my house...

Every time I go out in a public place, i get this sickness feeling in my stomach... I assume it's my anxiety, but whatever. When I finally make it home i feel like I havent eaten in days, like I'm going to throw up. So I eat and eat but it just makes me more sick after my nerves have calmed down.

I'm just curious what do you do to relax when you are in a public/crowded place? I know we all have trouble with these situations but this is just something I can't seem to help myself with.. I've tried eating balanced breakfasts, small and large, and even none at all, but nothing seems to help. I'm wondering if there is something that maybe I can think of when I'm out in public that will put me more at ease? I can't even sit in the library without thinking everybody is looking at me, making me feel like I've got to get out ASAP. I've tried listening to my iPod when I'm out and it helps a little with the nervousness but im not one that can listen to music and concentrate on a task at the same time...
I take anxiety medication at the request of mother but like all pills I haven't noticed any difference since I've started.
This is a pretty vague question but any words are greatly appreciated, thank you
