I had a moment today that was so embarrassing it left me feeling like a right IDIOT
I went to burger king today with my partner and kids we usually go to the drive through but there wasnt anyone in the restaurant so i thought id risk us going in.
Any way we got our food and i found us a nice lonely table right at the back near the window, then a really loud family came in and sat behind us :evil: (that ruined my karma)
I get really aware of people sat around me in restaurants and i carnt relax i glanced around and caught site of this girl staring at me , like i was some kind of weirdo so that did it i was like kids come on were GOING!!
I was in such a hury to get out and get away (our car was parked right infront of the window) i put the kids drinks on the roof of the car as i bent down to strap my youngest son in the drinks blew of the car and covered me in coke! Lots of load laughter and one very embarrassed me!

Has anyone else had an embarrassing sp moment lately?

I'm sorry to hear about that, but who were that people who were laughing at you? your kids and wife?

And you consider yourself a social phobic suffer and yet you have a wife and kids ???? probably you are just shy.

I don't think a social phobic suffer could have the courage and bravery to get a wife.

take care and thanks for sharing with us your anecdote.

I often feel anxious when I have to pay at the cash register. Sometimes it's so bad that my hands shake and I end up dropping coins all over the place. People probably think I've stolen something, or that I'm some sort of druggie or whatever because my hands are shaking so badly. I seem to embarrass myself just about every time I have to communicate with someone. Like Friday at the vet's office -- full waiting room, and I'm sitting there waiting to pick up tablets for my puppy. The assistant comes in and asks how much my puppy weighs. I say "1,890 kilos". Of course I meant to say "grams", not kilos. Mind you, I have to say all this in German because I live in Germany (I'm American). The assistant gives me a weird look and goes out. Then someone in the waiting room asks me "what kind of horse do you have that weighs so much?" Then everyone else in the waiting room laughs. My face, of course, turned bright red when I realized my mistake. Mortifying moments like this seem to happen to me all the time.

hi blue..take comfort that we all have such moments..your story reminded me of something that happened one day as i left work. I walked to my car after my work shift, along a busy drive-thru line-up..placed two coffees on top of the car, and got in and drove away. I noticed many people laughing as i left parking lot, but didn't understand why till i got home and no coffee :cry:

@Blue

Don't take it personal if people were laughing at that mate.

Trust me if that happend to me I would probably be laughing about it myself!

But I can see how it might have upset you with it bringing attention to you

Just don't dwell on it my friend
