Does anyone else like to spend time alone?

I'm feeling a little hesitent about starting this thread. I'm not even sure if I'll get any response on this but here goes anyway. Does anyone feel like they have to spend some time of the day completely alone? As for me I definitely do, everyday I need a certain amount of time by myself, listening to music or reading about random stuff. I get really pissed off if someone interrupts my alone time, even my family members. Of course I don't want this all the time but if I don't spend at least a few time alone I get really drained or upset. Anyone else feels like this?

oh yeah , in fact , i prefer to be alone all the time , having online friends would be enough for me , i unfortunately don't have any haha . I ditched all my real life friends slowly until i had none left , at first , they called me the hermit , then i completely disappeared from their life , ignoring phone calls and messages. I went from a music producer/DJ who used to want fame and success , to a total hermit and i feel much better this way. I'm always scared to bump into people i know here , i feel a bit guilty for abandoning them.

Yes. Absolutely I do. As well as being anxiety ridden I am a natural introvert. I cant be around people all the time as it just drains me and makes me irritated... Most of the things that I enjoy doing dont require other people anyway....Although I do want company sometimes too.. I just wish that when I need to function around other people, I can do so gracefully without getting flustered or freaking out.

Yeah. Pretty much all the time. I have a very few good friends, but since my best friend I used to hang out with left for Canada, I spend my time pretty much alone.
I socially seclude myself. That way I feel in peace. And peace is very important to me. :)

When I tell my mom that I stay up all night and sleep during the day to avoid people, I'm only half joking.

I enjoy being around other people occasionally, but I couldn't keep my sanity if I couldn't get away from them all from time to time.

Yeah totally.Even at work if too many people stress me out i just leave for a while to be alone.I know people who just cant be alone at all,and i can never understand why.I think a lot of the time people are overrated, though maybe that's just the sa talking?

I don't mind spending time alone. I hate it though when I'm in public settings like the mall or something and I'm by myself and there are a lot of other people around. I start to feel self conscious like everyone is looking at me because I'm by myself and I'm a total pathetic loser.

oh god its soooooo relaxing. "normal" people take that feeling for granted. i find the hard part is psyching myself up to go back into the tension filled world.

I like being alone. Like you I get drained when I don't get a time for myself. I do like to travel alone sometimes and take pictures of random stuffs. But when in school, students know each other so it feels awkward to be alone, it's like people are aware that you are a loner which makes you a loser in their vocabulary,,, so i prefer being in my group of friends.

I dont require time alone... Actually, to be honest, I have too much time alone. After hanging out or being out or something though, I value time alone. For example, I'll hang out one day, but then the next day I prefer to be alone to catch up on what I missed the other day.

^ This. I enjoy being alone, but only when I feel overwhelmed/stressed, or I if I went out the day before or something.

Time alone is my favourite place to be. My favourite me time is when I'm out on my bike. Having kids means you tend not to get any time alone till bed time. I get quite a lot of time at night because everyone else goes to bed and I'm up half the night on the computer gaming out.

For me depends on the person themselves, if my parents or my neice are constantly bugging me I just wanna get away, but I had a friend that I never wanted to be away from

Sometimes, I think all humans do. A couple of hours every day to meditate and clear ones mind is healthy for anyone.

i love being alone. good thing too...my husband has such a full schedule that he's rarely around so i'm alone most of the time. i find being around people is simply not necessary once i step out of work.
