Does anyone else experience this?

This is something I haven't brought up to anyone in a long time... though it may be due to how I feel about myself. Sometimes whenever I listen to a certain song by a band, I tend to get overwhelmed by my emotions the more I listen to it. For some reason, there are some songs that are able to trigger my emotions, even if they aren't meant to sound melancholic. Maybe it's just some type of coping mechanism/emotional release for me.:idontknow: I think it has more to do with the music/singer's voice than the lyrics. (sometimes it can be both though.) For me, I think it's the atmosphere and tone of the music that can trigger an emotional response in me. I can't really describe it though.

Hello FriendlyShadow, the only way songs can affect my emotions in a good way, is if I feel nostalgic about them, regardless of the lyrics, I always associate them to something, be it a video game or a movie, because that's usually how I stumble on them.
