Doctor's Appointment

Hi all, I was just wondering if anybody here could tell me what types of questions my doctor will ask me when I tell him I have sa (that I have it is really beyond doubt)? What sort of questions did your doctor ask you?

I'm booking an appointment this week and i'm already pretty stressed about it... just want to get myself prepared as it's quite a big step for me to take.

Thank you in advance :p

Gosh my first visit was all a blur - i sat there and mostly just cried. I guess what they will focus on is how it is impacting on your life. What is it stopping you from doing ? How is it interfering with the way you want to live? I guess with me the tears really spoke for me.

they'll probably ask you why you think you have it. then they might ask you for a family history, why does "X" make you feel like "Y" etc.

just remember that they're not there to try and prove you wrong! they're there to help and you know you have a problem. i just remember i was afraid she would tell me i didn't have a problem and that i was normal. b/c then i'd just have to deal ya know? but you know if you have a problem or not.

good luck and tell us how it goes :D

Firts off, congrats on making the appointment

My first visit went way way better than i thought, my doc asked me stuff like do i feel intimidated by people, when was the last time i was on a bus, when was the last time i went out socialy, and did i prefer being on my own. It was loads of questions like this and he basiclay done all the taking which i was glad of.

It will go well and just dont worry about it, its a step in the right direction

Please keep us posted on how you get on :D
