Do You Wish You Lived Somewhere Else?

For me preferably I'd either like to live in San Francisco or North Carolina one of the blue states more likely one more so than the other.

I just really despise where I live I feel if I lived somewhere else I would get out more and just enjoy being outside, instead I live in a place where people are bland, live off statements and have no creativity at all.

I would have liked to have gone to a really big American school or to go to a big college.

I used to feel that if I moved, things will be better, but now I realize that things will be the same everywhere. If you're really nervous around people, then moving will not change that. How will moving to california make you see people that are not bland? If you think they're bland where you are, why would they be different anywhere else? Are people raised in a much better way in california? People with no creativity are everywhere, the same as creative people. I could see how the outdoor environment could be better though.

Edit: I would like to move to get away from people that used to bother me in this neighborhood, but I feel that if I move, I'll just meet new people that will cause me problems.

I feel this way when I think about what I should do to find a girlfriend No women seem to be around or in this state. But I alway find them on T.V. and the computer living in anther state. I just thank to myself " man, I grew up in the wrong part of town." but I don`t get out much and I still hope that their a chance that I could be wrong.

What's wrong with Albion Park? I'm sure it's the same in Warilla.

I think you'll find the same anywhere you lived. If you lived in a big American city you would maybe pine for the quiet life in somewhere like Albion Park.

I was talking about this in 2005 to someone from New York he said he would have loved to have lived his life in Sydney and hates New York, I said that's strange because I would've loved to have lived in New York growing up. We agreed that different experiences in our lives are what cause us to admire other places more.

I've got nothing to do here anymore and everyday I'm constantly trying to avoid ppl I know because I don't know who's gone and who's stayed around.

Do you think that'll change elsewhere, though? If you lived in New York would you go out or still avoid people?

I agree that a lot of my friends are far away, too, but I don't mind this area. It's quiet and I don't have to run into too many people. Also I'm kind of boring so it suits me well. :)

I live in suburbia, though I do go downtown on occasion. All my friends are all about moving to the city now that we are adults. They are all getting their lives ready for moving into the city. I thought it was for me too. But lately, I have been thinking about my life and how lonely I feel presently. I don't think moving to the city will help me feel less lonely, it might exacerbate my problem.

No, I think that I belong in a small town, or in a forest somewhere in seclusion. My ancestors are people of the jungle. I kinda want to move back to my ancestral land. I want a simpler life, where I am more self-reliant and get to know a few people on a deep level. I want to have a dog and raise roosters and pigs. My transportation will be by Camel.

But right now, I want to go somewhere No one knows my name. I feel alot of pressure to stay the same from people I know. I need to go somewhere and carve out something new. Maybe it will be the same as it is now, but I atleast want to try.

Never

I do, I really really do. I don't know where though. I don't even know if living somewhere else would change anything, but I really want to get out of here :/. Everywhere is boring if you don't do anything. I just want something different, I don't even care how close or far away it is from here.

If living elsewhere won't change anything, why move? And where are your preferences to move to?

I like where I live, but I can't stand winter. I hate when the temperature is lower than 20C or 68F. I would love to live somewhere where it's hot all the time

Yes. I live in California. The only thing here that I feel is on the positive side is the weather. I've never been to Northern CA so I can't speak for them. From what I heard it's a lot different than Southern CA. People seem more easy going there. I've always wanted to move to another country or another state. The states I wanted to move to were Washington, Oregon and maybe Arizona. I've grown up in the city my whole life but I think my personality fits more with the countryside or suburbs.

You should move to Australia, Darwin virtually never drops below 20 degrees celsius

I see their pics on fb and everyone's having the time of their lives at the same time they even put me down. Why can't that be me one day?

I mostly want to do something different as well, I want to eat all the different foods I can, go to all the different shopping malls I can because I love shopping and see how living is for other people because it's really predictable down here
and I got nothing to lose.

The day Darwin gets to 20C is the day the new ice age is upon us!

If you want it so much, that can be you! :) Do you have the money and the motivation to move to America (or wherever you decide to go)?

I'm saving up but I have no idea what to do next I've been so unlucky and have been so close and would be ready by now but have gone thru so many setbacks.

I've watched a lot of cult American teen movies since I was young and always imagined I had similar friends it seems more fun to me now than ever I never knew anyone boring, they opposed where we lived as well, but I don't know anyone now.

Movies aren't exactly the greatest form of education on the subject out there, but I still hope you get to save up and go to America. :)

I'm glad I was born in Australia. There are other places in Australia that I might like to live other than where I am now. Perhaps Western Australia or back in Sydney, but I am happy to live in Australia

Depends on where in Northern CA you're thinking of. The SF Bay Area has a lot of "herd mentality", but farther up north in places like Chico, the people are more down-to-earth. That's not to say that there aren't some nice folks in the Bay Area - we have some here on SPW! :D

Also, not to rain on anyone's parade who wants to move to San Francisco, but it's just about as expensive to live in as New York City! There's a lot of wealthy tech people who live in the SF Bay Area who drive the prices up.

Not sure where in Cali you're from, but have you thought of the San Luis Obispo or Monterey areas? They're sort of "countryside" but with some city amenities.

Oregon is a state which is NOT friendly to people moving there from out-of-state. My cousin moved there from Cali and said it was rough being new in town!

I personally love Washington state because of how green it is, but the weather is horrible for anyone with depression!
