Do you have Facebook?

Recently I've been asked by my brother to get facebook, but I get quite anxious with these social sites, even from just thinking about it. Anyway, I would like to make an account, but I can't see myself replying to people or adding things to my profile as that will trigger high anxiety and judgemental thoughts. The plus side of this is I could possibly get into contact with old friends (which probably won't happen) but I like to think there's hope ::p:

Do you have Facebook and how is your anxiety towards it?

I've had a Facebook for almost three years now. I wouldn't say it really affects my anxiety too much. The only time I think it affects my anxiety is if I post something on it that is a tad conflicting. If I don't post much of anything on it, then I have nothing to worry about.

I have a facebook & I love it. I find that it's easier for me to express myself there.
If you ever do create an accout, I could add you if you'd like.

FaceBook has helped me get in touch with friends I've not seen for 6-10 years. It's really a great website with many games, quizzes, tests, functions and with 300 million people using it, you can meet people from all over the world on it!

I have Facebook, too, and yeah it causes me quite a bit of anxiety. I've had about 6 or 7 old friends from highschool add me to their friends list, but only one has actually contacted me - phew! And the person who contacted me was my old best friend, and this was last week...! So yeah I'm nervous about where these convos with him may lead, but at least you have as much time as you want to think of a reply/excuse.

I have had facebook for almost five years now. I like that it allows you to keep in touch with friends, and find old friends from the pas. It's not really much else to it, other than an easy way to let everyone know what you're up to and vice versa. However, these days I really don't go on much since I've never been the type to really update things as much. Most people if they want to contact me should at least know my E-Maill address or phone #.

No, I'm not on Facebook. A friend recently asked me why not and I wasn't sure what to tell him. I later determined that the reason is that I'm not sure how to present myself to the world. Who am I really? I'm in therapy right now trying to figure it out.

Will NEVER get facebook lol I have a hard enough time adding people on here as it is :p Plus I've watched some of my friends and sister on facebook and people basically go on peoples' pages and looks through their wall to wall convos and pictures... I would not want people doing that to me at all! Also its just another way for people to find out I have no life muhahaha.

I'm with theblank and niceangry... I'm just not interested in putting myself out there like that, and I'm not sure how I would want to present myself. Plus, I don't really have any pictures to post, so my page would be somewhat boring anyway.

I have Facebook, and don't tend to go on much. Although this is just because of a general disinterest of social networking. I only have it because everyone keeps asking for my "facebook."
I don't have Twitter or Myspace. One's enough.

I have Facebook. I've had it since March 2009, when I used it to get in contact with old friends. I've managed to get in touch with a few, but we've never really built up our old friendships again (i.e. went out or something). Just talked about the past, really.

I don't use Facebook often, but I've got a considerably large amount of friends on it
(165), but that mostly consists of people from my school, family, old friends, three online friends and so on.

I usually use Facebook to check on my crush. ;)

i quite enjoy facebook, i like speaking to people that i'm close with or just casual friends with sometimes too, and family. i think it can important, particularly while in education as a way of meeting new people, through mutual friends, etc. although i'm not a person that would particularly add random people, only people i knew.

I've never had a facebook. My sister recently got one and has been asking me about signing up, but I haven't yet. Besides her, I really wouldn't know anyone else to add. Plus, I really don't want people I went to school with finding me on there.

Nope, I don´t have one and hopefully never will.

Lost all interest / sympathy / anything else towards it when people started using the "but everybody else is doing it" argument when trying to convince me to get
one.

See you around :)

I agree, i would get paranoid about them having my personal information
and people being able to track me down and read my profile .etc
(though i wouldn't taking a peep at some other people i know  ).
I went to sign up once but they wanted my name, address, email, phone
and everything else they can get their hands on, i wouldn't be surprised if they asked for my pin number aswell. Im not comfortable with that.

Maybe i could set up an account using a new email address under a different name?
