Anyone else simply don't enjoy celebration like weddings, birthdays?

My cousin from the us is going to get married next month, mid october. I'm not gonna lied I really don't want to go. So I kept pushing back the date of when I was going to do my passport, even if my mom was telling me to do it. I'm gonna do it tommorow but the thing is it's already too late ( unless I pay a 70$ fee that I have zero intention of paying). I guess i'll have my mom and my aunt screaming at me but i really don't care

Another situation is my friend birthday, I love her too death and all but I don't know any of her friends, I'm not a big fan of people getting drunk and stuff so I lied to her telling her that I'm gonna do something for my dad's birthday that day ( it's true that my dad's bday is 2 days before her party but I don't think we'll do anything in particular)

I haven't cared about my own birthday since I was like 10 ( i'm 24) and if I ever get married it would be because my gf ( if i ever get one) would nag me about it none stop. I think getting married is a waste of time and money.

And you know, it's not that i'm scared of people or hate them, but to me it's as interesting as somebody telling me: HEY YOU COME GET KICK IN THE ... you get the point. I'm the pure definition of a party pooper

I went to a friends sisters wedding a few years ago and I enjoyed it, mainly only because I knew a couple people there and had somebody familiar to hang out with. And there was free food and booze :p

Marriage isn't a waste of time and money if you get it right. :p

Not one bit. My family and I haven't been on good terms for a while now and I never go to any of their celebrations unless it's my great aunt's family. She's the only one who's ever been nice to my mom and I and never used us like the others have. She actually invited us to her granddaughter's birthday party in a few weeks but we turned her down because some family we're not fond of is going to be there.

I especially don't like celebrations hosted by my friends because they love to party, get drunk, get high and all that crap. I feel like the only teenager in my region that isn't into any of that stuff. They also like setting me up with guys who are (usually) total socialite douchebags. Yet another reason for me to lock myself up in my room while everyone else is out having "fun".

I can't think of any event I hate going to more than weddings. My brother is getting married in a few months and I'm the best man. Not looking forward to that.

I had to be an Usher at my brothers wedding 2 weeks ago, i kinda freaked out at the church but managed to compose myself and do it. It was like most things i worry about...nothing to worry about. I still feel really bad about freaking out though because it was selfish.
As for the reception, i went back to the hotel at 9.30pm on my own after sitting alone for 3 hours.

I only go to birthdays if it involves getting drunk, otherwise.... NO WAY.

Yeah, I don’t care for them. My family is getting the idea but instead of me going they get me to be the one responsible for making digital presentations to show off photos to their friends.

Noooooo I caqn't enjoy those things >.<

Anyway those are the kind of things I never avoid, if something is important for someone I care about, must be important for me too.

Good luck :)

i TOTALLY enjoyed my wedding;)

of course i probably enjoyed it bc i only invited 15 people.

as for other weddings...i think they're fun depending on whether or not they're a formal occasion. i LOVE formal occasions bc then EVERYONE is uncomfortable and stiff...not just me.

it's the laid back celebrations that i severely dislike.
