Diagnosed

I know that I suffer from depression, paranoia, and possibly other mental issues. I never gone to the doctor about these so I'm not actually 'diagnose' with these problems, right?
Also it felt weird when (when I recieved a phone called by someone) I was asked if I have been 'diagnosed' with any mental problems or whatever. Since I haven't been to the doctor about it, or took any test for it, I said no and that make it seem like nothing is wrong with me

You just go to the "shrink", or the psychologist they are the only ones qualified to diagnose a mental illness... I wouldn't waste my time with a general MD. Go to the specialist that deals with mental problems on a daily bases... You'll be further ahead for doing so.

The definition of paranoia requires that you don't know you are paranoid and that you believe your fears are true. It wouldnt hurt to go to the doctor and get properly diagnosed.

You can go to a general practitioner and they will likely give you a referral to psychiatrist.

This is how I got diagnosed. I think it helps to be diagnosed because then you are qualified under the americans with disabilities act should you ever require special accommodations due to mental illness.

Make sure you get a good pdoc though. My first pdoc only diagnosed me with Social Phobia. I eventually went to see another mind doctor and I was properly diagnosed with Agoraphobia, panic disorder, OCPD, and Social phobia.

i was talking to a great lassie the other night, we were taliking about grapefruit juice and how the doctors tell you how good it is for you cause it cleans you system out, (like bleach in a toilet), but if anyone is taking meds for anything, all this grapefruit stuff is going to do is cancel out what the meds are supposed to be for!
in other words, you cant win, until next week when another "expert" comes out with a better plan!
i dont trust any of them.

I've been officially diagnosed with Panic disorder by a GP and SAD, OCD and PTSD (possible cause) by a consultant psychiatrist, though they were basically telling me what I knew already.

I did think I had Bi-polar-2 but the shrink dismissed that
