Definitely Try Iontophoresis

Hi everyone! I'd just like to say that for those who have still yet to find a good treatment for HH, you should definitely try iontophoresis.

I've been using the Idromed 5 GS for the past 6 weeks or so and the results have been very good. I have moderate HH in the hands and feet. I've only been using it for my hands so far. I started doing daily treatments (15 minutes for each polarity) for about 6-7 days then did my maintenance once every week. My hands remained/remains dry for the most part. During really hot times and stressful situations, my hands would get a little moist and maybe even sweat a little. But it's definitely not as strong as before and is a lot more manageable.

It's important to note that the weather is colder this time of year so I assume my dry hands are result of a combination of the iontophoresis and the cold weather. The real test comes in the coming months especially during summer. By then, I expect to do more regular maintenance treatments.

Despite this, I'm very happy so far with the results. For those who haven't tried it yet (especially people with moderate HH), consider it as an option at the very least. I understand that it works for some people and doesn't for some. But if it does work, it seems like a very good treatment for HH.

Happy Holidays!
:D

Hi Lobertz, do you have any update on your treatment using the Idromed 5 GS?

I'm considering buying a machine but dont' know the difference between the Idromed 4 & 5, or between these and the Idrostar (by STD Pharmaceuticals).

Hi Vanilla! Sorry for the really late reply. I must say that I haven't been doing my maintenance sessions as much as I need to. That's why the sweating has kind of returned again. So I'll be starting the treatments all over again and plan on being more disciplined with the maintenance sessions this time around.

But it worked really well for me when I was using it regularly. My hands didn't sweat as much. And when it did sweat, it took a while longer for it to sweat, like I could feel that tingly feeling but the sweat wouldn't come right away.

Unfortunately, I can't remember the differences between the three machines you mentioned. I remember reading a thread about comparisons for different ionto machines, but i can't seem to find it now. I'll PM you the link when I find it. But I think it should be here in the forums somewhere.

Good luck with the machine and I hope it works for you. Update us on how it goes.

Hi Vanilla, I bought the Idrostar a couple of weeks ago and am very impressed. I have HH in my hands and feet (quite severe!) Have used it three times (day 1,2 and 4) and have had no sweating since. Couldn't carry on with the treatment on day 7 as my hands are very sensitive and I had a couple of little cuts on them (not from using the machine, too much washing up and cleaning!) It is now day 9 and my hands and feet have been dry for 5 days, it's unbelievable! I only used it at between 5 and 6 mA, it felt uncomfortable any higher so I really didn't think it would work as I know lots of people go up to 20mA. Think that would kill me! I'll keep you updated anyway.

It is good to hear that you guys are success with Iontophoresis. I have had success with it also but I actually built my own homemade version of one. I have to say it saved me a lot of money but if I could afford it I would get the Idrostar.
