Cutting out sugar?

Has anyone here tried to stop taking sugar, or at least cut it back to a minimum to see what effect that had.
It is a big step, I've tried to quit coffee in the past but keep going back, so sugar would be 10 times as hard.

I cut out added, refined sugar completely two years ago (I was more or less obese), and I essentially lead a diabetic lifestyle. I lost 78lbs but my anxiety has remained the same.

Yeah, I have wanted to stop eating high sugar cereals but I have yet to find a better alternative for breakfast.

Wow thats cool. I am gonna be changing my diet around too. Hope I drop some pounds like you too.

A calorie is a calorie. If you stop eating 200 calories a day in sugar and replace it with protein, your weight will stay the same.

Sugar is good for you. Focus on calories and don't worry about fat, protein, carb (sugar).

Absolutely. I lost 22 pounds in 3 months just watching how many calories I took, rather than keep myself from enjoying food.

That's the truth, if you don't need to worry about health concerns, a calorie is a calorie. I'm not trying to derail the topic, but you really don't need to worry about this much fat and this much carbs and get that protein in there too...it's bull. Even athletes don't need to adhere to a diet-you can eat all the Mcdonalds you want and if you count the calories and make sure they're in check, it's all good. I eat anything I want, but i always add up the calories.

(If you don't believe me, there are scientific studies showing this stuff)

You don't eat vegetables?

Broccoli, mushroom, spinach, lettuce, cucumber etc, but compared to something like a carrot, they're essentially (and pretty much are) sugarless

and yes, a calorie is a calorie and that is all that really matters if all you care about is losing weight. I mean, yeah, if you consume less than you need, you lose, if you eat more, you gain.

but also, and I'm sure you'd agree, a diet of of krispy kremes and toast with a 500 calorie deficit is not going to allow the person to progress well...except maybe purely at losing weight. I mean, if you have 3000 calories to spend in a day, why not spend them most efficiently and get the most bang for the buck? If your daily calorie budget is so great that you can get all your basic nutrients and still **** about with empty calories, so be it. I think that it would be a bit hard for someone just coming off from a shit diet to focus exclusively on calories and still get the nutrients that they need... not to mention that an undisciplined person at 2950 calories and only 2 doughnuts left is going to have a hard time holding true.

..Of course, it's hard to find decent foods for a good price.. and you'd probably end up needing frozen and or canned vegetables since fresh are absurdly expensive, but whatever

iv cut out things like soda and candy, cake and anything else like that and it does make a little bit of a difference, i think caffeine makes me more anxious than sugar does.
