Okay... this has become a problem for a couple months now. I've been prone to getting cold sores very easily (especially in winter) and usually my cold sores/scars would naturally heal in time. So far these past few months, I've unfortunately broke out three times on my upper lip. The scabs themselves are gone but now I'm left with three red marks on my upper lip and they haven't seem to fade away. I've been using cocoa butter to moisture my lips but I'm still not seeing any results. I'm eating healthy and drinking plenty of water too. Does anyone know any other ointments/creams I could use that would be good for cold sore scars? Thanks.

I've had these red marks on my lip for at least two or three months now...

Zinc vitamin tablets or Zinc Oxide Ointment can help with skin problems and healing.

"Zinc oxide ointment can relieve a variety of mild skin conditions such as diaper rash, pimples and minor burns, including sunburn. Zinc oxide acts as skin barrier to prevent and heal skin irritation. It is used in a variety of skin creams and ointments. Users generally apply a generous amount of of zinc oxide ointment to completely cover the treatment area."

Maybe try some Mederma or Bio Oil. I'd go with the Bio Oil first, I've used both and Mederma made my skin itch. Maybe I'm just sensitive, not sure.
