hey dottie,

i m sorry that even a glass of wine cant do anything to relax you. Maybe you shouldnt drink alone, try to chill with some neighbours if possible. (Yeah, i m a good as advice-giver, I almoslt always drink alone:[)
Maybe to listen to radio? I dont really know.

Among many health advices i read in a news paper it was one that said that drinking in afternoon wont help you sleep. They must somehow fill every day crapy newspaper...

In the bath I tried focusing on my breathing even. It was hard to get my mind to just focus on that alone.

Is a symptom of anxiety having difficulties focusing? At work they tell me to focus but sometimes it is hard for me to remember the 438576 trivial, sporadic random multitasks (it is in a very social environment so that doesn't help- if I was sitting at a desk it would be different). It's almost like my senses are distracting me and I have to repeat things in my head over and over so I don't forget the tasks at hand.

Anti-depressants will help you be able to unplug your brain at night. Meet with a psychiatrist that will prescribe you different meds until you figure out what works for you.

Other strategies: Start writing out your thoughts on paper (not computer) and dump out all of your thoughts. Maintain a list of all the things you need to do, so that you are not responsible for remembering anything. Don't look at a computer screen or tv screen for the hour before going to bed. Read write or draw something. Don't drink any caffeine or sugary foods. Stick to a consistent sleep schedule, don't let yourself stay up way late, be extremely consistent with your bedtime and wake time. Drink milk before bed (the Calcium helps relax your muscles.) If you do have trouble falling asleep, don't get out of bed, and don't sleep in the next day or take a nap the next day. Do all of these things, not just some. Good luck!
