Bringing your machine in baggage

Hi will be traveling overseas for over 3 weeks

I currently use an at home device but because I will be staying with friends, I am thinking of investing in a machine like the iontoderma which is much more portable. But I am afraid to put in my check bag. Will customs freak out?
Any experiences with this?
I would also not like for my travel mates to know so thus the checked bag.
I read someone put a note with the device and was good.

Any experience you can share would be great thank you!

Looking at the Iontoderma's iontophoresis machine it's basically looks the same as a variable voltage laptop supply which can be had for under S25. The case adds convenience, but at a huge price. Any variable voltage laptop supply can be outfitted with alligator clips.

Purchase cheap plastic trays at a dollar store when you arrive, bring some shelf liner and fold some aluminum foil to be used under the shelf liner. The alligator clips get attached to the aluminum. Easy peasy!

Now you'll have way over $300 to spend elsewhere.

This topic has come up before and it seems nobody has an issue flying. I used to travel with 2 40lb bags of power tools and it always made it through. Inspected yes! Rejected, never.

Yes my at home setup totally works but I wanna be discreet. I'm not comfortable sharing my issue with anyone. It's so hard to make anyone understand. It's so annoying. And I would rather pay than hear it. My husband and daughters know and that's about all who I am willing to tell.

So if I put this in my check in it should be ok? Will customs most likely open my luggage?

You should be just fine checking your luggage in. I wouldn't worry about it.

I guess I'm the opposite. I have no issue telling friends and family about HH and the hand treatment I do. Everybody has some sort of issue. I guess after many years of hiding my HH it felt good to inform and tell others about it. It's not like we did this to ourselves. Most people who don't suffer from HH have no clue the problem even exists.

Customs and any domestic flight randomly check people's luggage anyways. People check in all sorts of electronic gadgets all the time. Nobody on here ever said they got pulled off a plane because of it.

I haven't travelled international in awhile do they go through your bags in front of you?

I normally would not care but I have family members that would wanna watch or see the treatment and then not understand the big deal. And because they are family they think they can say what they want. I know it sounds silly but it's just certain family I am not close with and can't even begin to try to understand. :-(

So it's just this particular visit. It's annoying.

Oh btw do I need to worry about the water from a diff country?

I'm clueless about the water. Water quality is different everywhere. Just go and enjoy your trip.

Oh I read some posts that said water from diff countries don't work when doing iotonpjerosis treatment. Sounded weird to me too but some claimed their treatment didn't work because of the water??

Like I mentioned, water can be different state to state, county to county and country. Water can affect the quality of ionto treatment.
