Botox doesn't work for me

I have been dealing with my sweating problem all my life. I finally got 100 units botox on my hands in July. Although my condition has improved since the second week of injection, I still have clammy hands pretty much all the time. I went back to the doctor office for a follow up, but my doctor said I'll have to wait for a few months because my insurance won't cover botox treatment that frequent. I don't know what went wrong, but it just didn't work well. Maybe next time I'll try to have all 200 units on my right hand.

Does anyone here have experience with botox? I had such high hopes for it, and now I'm really sad and disappointed. I feel like there is something wrong with me. :kickingmyself: :crying:

I hate my job, and I'm debating should I look for a better opportunity. I don't have confidence and I dreaded shaking people's hands and going to a job interview. I'm stuck!

Don't let the HH get in your way of finding a woman. You'll find as you become close with someone the sweating will ease up. If you are honest with them from the start the more than likely won't care.

I've been married, divorced, in relationships and no one cared about my sweating. Just ended a 1.5 year relationship with a woman who couldn't care less about my sweating. She was super supportive. She held my hand through both wet and dry times.

Just be yourself and get out there and meet someone.

Can botox be used on the chest and back areas?

I heard that it is only a temporary fix and that the more often you have it the less time it works.

I'm getting married next year and would really love to have those 2 weeks (Wedding + honeymoon) sweat free (or at a minimum at least) I don't want to be doped up on probanthine during this time because they are really uncomfortable for me and my eyes get so dry as does my mouth and throat and it is really sore and difficult to speak and thats the last thing I want on my wedding day, I ideally wanted the botox a few weeks before so that it was working at its best around the time of my wedding.

Has anyone ever used botox on other areas than face and hands?

Thanks.

I also tried botox after nothing else worked. It had zero effect on me either. I had 50 in each hand and for 1 day they were dry then back to hellish dripping. iontophoresis works but I have to use it for 1 hour per day and it's way too painful to use on my hands, feels like I'm getting massive electric shocks even at the lowest setting.

Which machine are you using for ionto treatments?
Seems like we have several people who are somewhat resistant to ionto.

It sounds like you just need more botox. I have been using botox for 16yrs. For the first treatment they started me on a low dose and it did almost nothing for me. I use 150-200 units per hand now and go every 3-4 months. Botox is the best!

I've had botox done in my palms twice - a year apart. Unfortunately both times didn't work for me :(
I don't know if I needed a higher dose, but it wouldn't have been possible because both times I nearly fainted when the botox was injected.

I have heard the same results with Botox, that the amount that is injected varies on how much or often you sweat. Also, remember that anxiety is closely related to excessive sweating, so if that day you are highly anxious, well, you are going to sweat more than normal and Botox wasn't accounting for that too. I actually really like Certain Dri for my hyperhidrosis. I have often found that if you dry the product with a hair dryer after you apply it, that it stays in the skin longer, even on hands and feet. Certain Dri has many different products, so you might have a bit of a trial and error, finding out the best product that works for your body. Some products are too weak and some are way too strong. If you want to try Certain Dri for yourself, you should check out their webpage. Look for consumer samples button that the top. Good luck finding a product that works!
