First time poster, long time sufferer.
I have tried (over many, many years) just about every available medication for social anxiety. The benzodiazepine class (diazepam, alprazolam, etc.) have been the only ones which put a dent in my anxiety. Doctors are increasingly reluctant to prescribe them, in my experience, because of concerns around abuse, habituation and withdrawal.
If I went to my local NHS doctor or a private doctor, I'm pretty sure I'd get a smile, kind word and a prescription for an SSRI, which do absolutely nothing for me.
Does anyone know of any online sources they have successfully dealt with, or understanding doctors in the London area?
