Arachnophobia or other phobias?

I have more than one phobia but one thing that really sends me into panic is spiders. Australia is probably not the best country to live in with this fear. It’s been a while since I’ve had an encounter because we're just coming out of winter over here but this morning i saw one in my house and my whole body went into panic mode. I could hardly breathe! This was hours ago now and I 'm still really shaken up. I keep checking myself because i think one might be on me. I even check every room i go into first just to make sure it s 'safe'. Another thing I do is when i get into my car i look around to check it first because my biggest fear is that i will be stuck in the car with one. I would crash the car for sure if that happened. It's not the bite that i' m scared of it's the movement and the thought of them crawling on me. I heard that there is a course you can do to overcome this but it involves sessions with a live spider!! I could never do that! I know Arachnophobia is a common phobia but that doesn't make any easier to live with. Anyone else live with Arachnophobia or other phobias that trigger panic attacks? Have you tried any therapy to overcome it?

im petrified of spiders, like you say its not the bite, its the movement, a small thing like that shouldnt be allowed to run as fast as it does
my uncle is a pest controller somewhere in australia (melbourne i think)
when i had a wee kitten (not me personally) it was a female cat. a big, what i thought was a huge spider ran accross my floor, i thought i was going to die of panic, but then my wee kitten chased it and clawed it, i had to laugh! (by this time i had my feet off the ground) and i was scrunshed on the soffa
experts say all a spider can see of you is a shadow, nothing else! that sounds good to me! but how do the so called experts know!!
ive seen a lot of crazy stuff in my life, but ive yet to witness a spider saying "i cant see you, all i can see is a shadow"
i couldnt live in australia, in saying that, some people say they are more scared of koala bears, than spiders

I have massive phobia of house lizards and also Trypophobia (fear of deep, tightly clustered holes).

Trypophobia is a very recently classified phobia, so not many people are aware of it. If the following images give you goosebumps or a skin-crawling feeling, then you might have this phobia:

Note that this phobia applies only to deep holes that are clustered very close to each other.

I am particularily paranoid about white-tail spiders, as they like to wonder around inside the house and are not usually the type that stays inside a web. They wonder on walls, floor, ceiling, window frames, desks. I get very itchy just thinking about them, or seeing on.

I have never been bitten before but have had close encounters.

I do however try to contain them and release them outside to the best of my ability.

lol... Yeah, how can anyone see through spiders eyes! Still it gives me comfort to think that with all their eyes all they can see is a shadow :D

Trypophobia. That is very interesting. I think that the picture of the girl was a little strange. That's just because she looks diseased. The other stuff doesn't bother me though. Do you know what triggered this phobia? Is it because you fear that there is something in those clustered holes?

Yes i think its a fear of the unknown, of something strange that i cant see inside those deep, dark, endless holes. i get a strong urge to want to DIG DIG DIG DIG DIG into those holes and pull whatever is inside OUT!

i had a larvae infestation of my index fingert when i was 8-9 yrs old, and i could see the larvae writhing squirming crawling inside this small wound in my finger and these larvae heads were all poking out of the flesh...

I guess its bad when you live in a most spider populated continent :D was watching a tv program about deadliest australian spiders, and according to the statistics only 1-2 people die in a year from a bite, thats quite good for a country of 21million :D and knowing that you have few hours after getting bitten is good aswell.anyway keep this statistic in your mind :)

After seeing that photoshopped picture here with some girl having clusters of holes on her arms and legs, like she was diseased,... I've had some trouble sleeping as I keep thinking I need to stab her, or cut her arm off, or scrap all the bateria off with my knife. I need to stab something, this is the fourth day this is happening to me.

I have the following :

Nyctophobia - Fear of the dark (my most intense fear)

Astrophobia - Fear of space

Mottephobia - Fear of moths

Bogyphobia - Fear of the bogeyman

Eisoptrophobia - Fear of mirrors (but only at night)

I'm afraid of cotton balls too but I don't know what that's called...I just don't like the way they feel!

Interesting to see the names for all these haha. I'm quite scared of the dark. I hate being in pitch black. I definitely find space scary too, just thinking about the size of it. My mums husband has a phobia of moths, and old buttons, especially in jars or tins :D. I find it a bit scary when moths flap around your face really fast but I don't mind them just being.

That "holes-in-things" phobia I can kind of see why.
Those kind of things call into mind things dark and strange and deadly, I think.
Makes me think of nasal cavities in a dried out scull.

I don't know if anyone else has these spiders that are freakishly huge and build their webs right in the middle of a place where you might walk through.
They usually are colored brightly and make squigglies on the web.
Watching them move around and do things is like putting your ear on somebody's cheek as they eat cereal.

i want to scrape the skin off layer by layer until the holes disappear. When i see the pics i always have this thought.

I have a fear of needles (although this has probably gotten slightly better because I've had loads of injections this year ::eek::) and heights (but I'm ok with roller coasters for some strange reason ::p:).
