Anyone else camera shy?

Haha. Just one more thing for me to have to worry about when going to social events, someone just has to whip out the camera and take photos that end up on blahbook or some random photo blog somewhere. I hate it! First of all, I am not photogenic, and this always leads to me having a look of slight horror on my face at the sight of a camera, not that I was comfortable in the first place lol... Which leads me to this question: Why is it apparently okay for people to take pictures and post them publicly? Am I the only one that's weird about photos?

Meh.. I'm not really photogenic. I'm just completely shy (probably even more shy than I am in reality) on a camera or mic.

Many excuses opposing pictures.
- The flash annoys.
- Cannot smile. I can, not real.
- Refuse to see myself through myself. Although mirrors are fine.
- Not me.
Not sure that's being shy anymore. Sounds like Avoidance.

Ah yeah, that reminds me. It's kind of weird when I take pictures... I either smile too big or too little. Or just not at all, so it looks as if I was sad or dissatisfied at the time

Your avatar, I take risk here, I assume that is a picture of you.
(Please never assume)

-- Picture hard to see, the smile is good. The eyes seem to give way to false.
I could be wrong. Just what I see. I mean no offense.

I am the same. Saw my smile once or twice, said, 'that's it, I'm done.' I don't smile too much. If I do, hide I will.

I have always hated having my picture taken, because I have to fake smile, and yet, that's pointless. Why smile if there's nothing funny? It's so artificial.

the best I can usually manage is a wry grin which looks like I'm smirking

I am definitely camera shy. I avoid cameras if possible when someone else is taking pics. I can never manage to smile in pics. I'm working on it, but I've never liked how I look at all. I've posted myself before, but you're not likely to see me spamming the post your pics thread.

I'm not really camera shy, I just don't like the pictures others take of me. The good pictures never get posted, but they never fail to show the crappy ones lol. Also, I don't like to smile for pictures if I'm not in a smiley mood, but people mostly expect me to smile. If I do smile then I look like crap because I don't have a pretty smile. If I don't smile then I look like I'm pissed off and I ruin the whole picture. Okay, they're not ruined because my friends always look lovely. I still let others take pics of me and with me even if I'm not always enthusiastic about it. It makes my friends happy and I want to have my memories immortalized in pictures.

Is it just me, or do people on facebook tag the most unflattering pics possible? Hrmmm.

It's not just you! They do that all the damn time! I've looked through my friend's camera and found some very good pictures of me, but those never find their way onto FB. There's a tagged picture of me where I look ugly as hell. I was having a very rough night and decided to go out to forget my troubles and it is now immortalized on FB for future generations.

I think I've been tagged once on FB. A whole one time. Okay by be. Got rid of it really quick too. FB should add in
--> one will need the others' permission before tagging a picture to them.
