Read the previous posts.

Anyway, I'm almost finished watching all three episodes, and yeah, I'm kind of disappointed that there are no bears and so forth, or that he didn't make it the whole three months, but I enjoyed it.
ill read the previous posts when you stop making duplicate ones :D

i still dream of doing this, probably not in canada though, the scottish highlands would do me fine :)
in the snow, sleet, and rain, with a bottle of whisky (better make that 2 bottles)
(or 3 bottles if mrs texino is coming with me :))

even thats not an option anymore "alone in the wild"

its cause of all them google maps from outer space watching everything you are doing!

it has to be an invasion of privacy surely!!!

looking on the bright side at least edward scissorhands doesnt have to worry about having a w*nk::p:

living in the wild seems nice and all but what are you going to do. count rocks? not that i'm promoting cities necessarily. i dont like living in cement.

ppl get this idea that going into nature means you're going to become one with plants and stuff tbh i can't see that happening. im not even sure what that means. dressing up like a flower???

I recently watched this film documentary type of thing called "Cry of the Wild." This guy goes to a couple places in Canada to find wolves and see how they exist out there. He then ends up raising some of his own and that's where it gets interesting! It's a bit older, but I like it.

I was looking through all my old VHS tapes a couples weeks ago and found it, ha. It was really neat seeing the wolves that they raised and how they also interacted with their pack, as well as just being completely friendly to the guy and his family. Like, rolling around playing/belly rub kind of friendly.

About a year ago I saw Into the Wild on TV at 2 am, and I've probably watched it a million times. I can recite the lines, also read the book thrice.
Realisticly, I find the lifestyle would be daunting and lonely. I used to fantasize about it, but now I agree that 'happiness is only real when shared' and i'd still loooove to live in the wild, hiking and discovering edible wilds, but with another person.
In the book they mention a guy (do not remember his name) who survived the wild alone for 10 years, only to later conclude that it is impossible to survive on the land as man knows it, and shoot himself.
Doing this alone, I think would turn my passion into hell.
And survivorman is my favorite show along with departures x]

i always suspect a lot of adventure folks are suicidal.you read stories where they always pick the ice shards of death over the more peaceful landscapes. just a theory, its a brave way to go. i personally would prefer to go alone. id rather not get eaten by my companion in those lovely last weeks of starvation
