I was just about to ask if there were any movies about SA or anything like it.

Anyone know of any others?

Umm, there's a related movie called '' Lars and the real girl''.
But it's not really a movie about Social Anxiety, it's about a boy talking to a doll. But he really seems Socially anxious, especially in the beginning of the movie, I like the movie, it's different than the other movies , But the guy (lars) really shows some social anxiety in his behaviour.

Also there's a movie called Amelie, It's related to SA too.

I've been browsing around SPW, and this is what i've found :) (i'm definately gonna watch all of these :D)

To a certain degree, Coyote Ugly deals with if not social phobia, then certainly with shyness.

The main character struggles to overcome her nerves and realise her own musical potential.

ahh Coyote ugly is my favorite movie :D

I just saw the movie Bubble, which was really good. One of the main characters has social anxiety and talks about it a little bit and in the special features the actor talks about his real life sa. I thought it was really interesting to see that talked about and it sounded so familiar. I highly recommend this to any of you.

Dead Poets Society deals with Social Anxiety a bit. One of the main characters seems to suffer from it. He's terrified of speaking in class or even joining groups for school papers and stuff. Plus, the movie is absolutely outstanding.

You should Search ''Movies related to social anxiety'' at the search box here, You can find so many movies.

But what I like about this movie, is that.. the whole story line is about SA, I've never seen a movie like that b4. So I would love to see!::eek::

I just got done watching, heres what I think...

First of all, the movie critic inside me must complain about a few things. First, the acting. Every actor in the movie (other than the guy who played the main character, who was actually strong) was laughably bad. Their reactions and delivery of lines was awful. The writing was corny, and just terrible at times.

If you are able to get past this, it's still enjoyable, especially for people like us who can relate. There were several parts of the movie, where I just shook my head thinking to myself "Ive totally been there." I would recommend it to anybody on this website due to the story, but I don't think anybody who can't relate to SA would enjoy it.

Overall, Im glad I watched it and it was worth my 3 dollars. It was sweet and motivating.

***Spoilers***

My life is so much like Maxwell Sweetwaters. Back in High School I had friends, was a good student, and was told I had potential by several people. I wasn't a star athlete or homecoming king, but I had my own thing going. My anxiety wasn't really anxiety back then, just a low self esteem Ive always had for whatever reason. So I avoided going out like Mad Max. Now that Im a bit older (though younger than Max), I live with friends as well. When we hang out in the living room, I usually look zoned out and disinterested in whatever we are doing or talking about. Im not doing well in school anymore and I don't have a job. Im not reaching that potential. My place is a complete **** hole, I don't shave, I just, and I quote "sit around stuffing my face watching TV all day." I just hope I get a happy ending too.

I wouldn't let the acting discourage you from watching if the movie otherwise looks interesting to you. It is more noticeable in some scenes than others. In some cases it is actually laugh out loud funny, but it doesn't make it unwatchable.

I give props to the guy who pulled the movie together, Chester Jones III. He wrote, directed, produced, and stared, and seemed to know SA well. He should stick to acting though and never try to make another movie.
