I don't know what's in the water but I can't help but notice stupid things that stupid F**king people say all the time. Am I really that sensitive or is this one of those times I need to let this go? Can noone else catch what's wrong with this. Im helping my boyfriend build something and....Wait For It....His father asks if he's running a slave drive.

That would be a pretty bizarre question to ask in any circumstance. I don't know if anyone would take it well. It's starting to sound like your boyfriend's family has a bad case of hoof-in-mouth disease.
No. I think you are entitled to feel this way. Especially since they feel they are allowed to be *******s. I don't think you are sensitive at all. Sometimes some people just notice things or feel more strongly than others and that's not a bad thing. Some people should just stop being *******s.

That does sound like an extremely strange thing to say. I don't really get what it was suppose to mean? I agree that it may have been a poorly thought out joke or just a stupid comment. Lots of people say stupid things, very very stupid things in fact, and unfortunately it can be so difficult not to take them personally sometimes. Some people just don't have filters when it comes to saying certain things.

I dont think you should jump to conclusions that it was racially motivated. There are lots of 'expressions' people say that have been around forever that can be used for all ethnicities. If I was upset that my white boss was making his employees work too many hours I would have no problem calling him a slave driver. The workforce can be white, asian, hispanic, black, green or blue. I do understand that you could take it in a hurtful way but we should try to get over that every question or comment is racial.
