I've been on zoloft fir a month and a week. I know It's supposed to take a while for it to work (up to 8 weeks). But I do 't know If it's going to work at all. Anybody who has has experiences please comment. I'm stickin' to eat to see if it picks up though. What should I try if it doesn't pick up at all? I'm taking it for anxiety.

klonopin and adderall are good meds for SP but they haven't any long-term effect and after some weeks body resists to them.

Yeah, I have Klonopin and i'm not taking it for that simple fact. I'll only use it when I really need it. Another think I forgot to mention: I started out with 25mg for four days then 50mg for three weeks and the rest of the time it's 100mg. Would that reset the time I would have to wait for results since my dose hasn't been stable?Or will it be still up to 8 weeks from when I started the 100mg? [once again I've been on it for a month and a week (for anybody else who would like to comment)]

When used with CBT exposure therapy, they make doing the exposures easier and doing exposures has long term improvement that is permanent in most cases.

Hey man, I was on Zoloft up till 200mg. I have also tried Paxil, Lexapro, and I am taking Celexa now.

I find that SSRI's are kind of hard to tell if it is working. They are certainly not as good at ridding anxiety as benzos.

It is a rather subtle feeling when they do work. I think most people expect strong results like with the tranquilizers and whatnot.

One thing I noticed on Zoloft was that at about 8 weeks I had less anxiety in situations with new people. I was still plenty nervous but usually I don't talk to people I don't know and on Zoloft I could kinda do this.

I think you should go up to 150mg in two weeks if you see no response. You must remember that at higher doses, Zoloft acts as a Dopamine Reuptake Inhibitor as well as inhibiting Serotonin.

Sometimes people with anxiety seem to have some type of malfunction with multiple neurotransmitter systems.

I recommend giving the Zoloft at least 3 months if you can stand the side effects.

i was on aropax. i found that they really helped with social anxiety. However i think that i have had long term mental problems from stopping them suddenly. Because that was when i started have a particular problem... i still have it now... although at the moment it is not as severe as in the past.

I think that they helped me allot, But i think i would resort back to them if things started to get bad again... But so far so good dealing with everything quite well now without them

Zoloft is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Zoloft affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause depression, panic, anxiety, or obsessive-compulsive symptoms.
Call your doctor at once if you have any new or worsening symptoms such as: mood or behavior changes, anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, or if you feel impulsive, irritable, agitated, hostile, aggressive, restless, hyperactive (mentally or physically), more depressed, or have thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself.
