"Whether by the sword or the slow decay of time, Aragorn will die. And there will be no comfort for you. No comfort to ease the pain of his passing. He will come to death, an image of the splendor of the kings of men in glory undimmed before the breaking of the world.

But you, my daughter, you will linger on in darkness and in doubt, as nightfall in winter that comes without a star. Here you will dwell, bound to your grief, under the fading trees, until all the world is changed and the long years of your life are utterly spent."

Hard core!
Amazing to think this sh!t was real in its day..
One of my favorite movies of all time, it's a shame that NETFLIX took it down. If someone from that ancient era time traveled to our time today I'm sure they would be shocked and horrified by some of the violent/gross stuff the world does today.

Or...maybe not. How much more brutal can you get besides hand to hand combat to the death?

Well - this doesnt exactly kinda go here - but i didnt know where else- and didnt want to feel like a walking banner lol. In any case, when im depressed I feel like the options are to feel bad and think about it or to find ways to relieve it.

But alot of things I read are always about feeling it and working it out - gradually. Kinda like CBT. Anyways - this was a good article even if its not fitting for this thread (sorry!) : P

By all means- Im not trying to judge or anything - because everyone is different - I just found this helpful and thought I should share .

Depression and problem solving
Depression is strongly connected to problem solving since one of the main causes of depression are unsolved problems in life areas that you care about the most

Your main task to overcome depression is to determine the exact reason behind your depression and start working on dealing with this root cause.

Some people ignore this step and instead try getting involved in different types of new activities like traveling or playing a new sport just to forget about the pain depression brought them.

That solution may work for a short period of time (as long as that change in activities is present) but on the long term that can never solve the depression problem.

Your mind sent you the signal of depression because it wanted you to solve an important life problem and by doing other activities that are not related to this problem you are actually telling your mind that you don't care! That's why depression and problem solving are strongly connected.

Solving the depression problem
In order for you to spot the root cause of the depression problem you must be aware of an important fact.

When small problems accumulate together their bad effect intensify in such a way that you might not be able to single out the bad mood resulting from your depression. Lots of trivial issues that are usually not noticed under normal conditions become bigger and intolerable when they occur while you are depressed.

In such a case the reason you are feeling bad is because you have one or two big problems and many small ones. The minor problems only seem so drastic because of your bad mood.

Isolate the problems to get over depression
In order for you to solve the depression problem you need to isolate the bad moods that resulted from these small issues and the bad moods that results from the major problems.

This task might not be as easy as it seems but certainly it can be done. Imagine that you have a magic wand that can help you change anything in your life right away and just keep visualizing your new feelings after making certain changes. By doing so you will be able to know what changes are needed in order for you to feel really good.

Its important to be careful when trying to isolate the main problem because if you mistakenly diagnosed your depression you may spend months struggling for a solution that won't help you solve your depression problem.

Once you find the real cause behind your depression problem you must take serious actions to deal with that root cause because if you did, your depression will end.
