I can do normal everyday things like go to the grocery store and have a job. However, I still feel anxious around people a lot of the time. For example, when I get to the checkout I feel anxious just being around the cashier. And, at my jobs, I tend to feel extremely anxious interacting with not only my coworkers, but especially my boss. My palms don't sweat and I don't have to make a emergency escape, but I feel so uncomfortable. Even at my college class, I feel so awkward just sitting there as the teacher walks around lecturing. And I think other people notice. So it's not like I can't or choose not to do everyday things. It's just that I feel very shy and anxious in those situations but I do them anyways because I pretty much have to. Despite how fearful I was of taking my speech class, I did that too anyway. But a couple of my speeches were cringe-worthy. I could see everyone's faces and knew that they saw me as so awkward up there. lol.
I'm not sure if you would call this shyness or social anxiety?
