Going clubbing alone? Thoughts?

So I've been to a few clubs before with friends but this weekend I decided to go to a club alone. I would much rather be with friends but it's a trance (techno) club and everyone I know despises that kind of music. The only reason I'm going is to hear one of my favorite djs play there and trance music is one of the only things in this world that makes me happy :D Is it weird to go alone? Dangerous? (I'm a girl) Thoughts?

like token said, watch your drink, and stay around people

Hope you have fun, and it might not be a bad idea to invest in pepper spray

Takes guts to have fun at a club on your own. I like that kind of music myself and what I havefound at those events its easier to get to know peeps since they go for the music too. When I go out I even dance by myself and not care about anyone else thinks.

Who is playing? I love trance, I'll go with ya! Haha. I'm really into the music because to me trance is like some sort of therapy. The uplifting feeling from it has saved me many times over. I use to go with work colleagues but they have either grown out of it or moved interstate so now I'm left on my own. I have gone a couple of times on my own to see my favourite DJs play too, it is not the same without friends but still somewhat enjoyable (if you're really into the music). Nothing like hearing your favourite song come on hehe, I've even got up and danced on my own sober! Safe enough for me but I am a guy. I say do it but be careful out there.

I love trance, i was at a big festival last weekend in Holland, aww how sad i am to be home!! But i think im heading to I Love Techno in Belgum but not sure yet due to the drug scene...

But fair play to you if you go on your own. The only way i could do that is if im drinking or taking drugs. Will you be drinking? I could do it drunk but sober no!

I know at 'raves' everyone there is so happy and friendly, but you are right, it is dangerous to go on your own.

How did it go anyway?

Love to hear that more people are in dance music YAY :)

As others have said take precautions to keep yourself safe, but don't let the fear of going somewhere alone stop you from doing what you want to do. Go to the club and have fun. Life's too short not to.

Honestly I don't find it very fun going by myself,I rather just go to a hole in the wall bar, i tend to have a better time at those by myself, then a crowded dancefloor

oooh, holland!? did armin van buuren play? he's my favorite! haha seen him 9 times lol <3 and yesss, i will definitely be drinking. i've never had a problem meeting people at raves because when everyone is on ex it's easy to be a social butterfly, but i've also gone with a crowd of atleast 3 or more. but at clubs its a different story, drunk people arent as nice as people on ex haha. i'm not going til tonight, ahh i'm a little nervous! but thanks to the responses on here i am feeling a lot less weird and more confident about going alone! haha

Just being in this thread makes me happy lol. I went to an Armin only show here in 2008, was soo good. Once my half ironman event is done I'm going to try go to more shows - I've missed alot of shows due to my training, I wanted to see Deadmau5 and Simon Patterson during easter but I'm going to have to skip it :(

i hate it the most when people think all trance is just music for people on drugs....so ignorant

& yea i remember armin talking about this in a past asot episode! i love the one of shivers. so amazing!!! wish i could have been there! im so jealous, ive never seen john o callaghan and i love him!
he just came out with his new cd though so hes probably not gonna play the oldies like big sky...
why are you putting yourself in a danger zone? i think you should definitely go :)

If there were any places near where I lived that played trance music, I would definitely go. Going to shows alone always seemed like a fine thing to me; the crowds are so big no one usually notices anyway. Have fun! :)

Noooo Waaayyy, ha coinsidence or what!! Wasnt ASOT only brillant! :)

Yes trance music is therapy in itself ha!

JOC is amazing live. Yeah the event is his promotion for his new CD. Ive heard a few bits of tracks that my bro has played to me, whopper!!

Errrrrr, well you see the reason why i'd be putting myself in danger zone is because the amount of drugs there and im off drugs now only since after Amsterdam. So thats why its danger zone for me so i dont think my will-power is quite there yet! But yeah, people know trance/house/electro music for the drug scene and i hatefully admit i must add to those peoples views. But not anymore!!!

I think it was a really brave thing to go out clubbing on your own, really i do! And im happy to hear you enjoyed the night, and so you should! So cheers to many more brill nights out! :)
