Feeling like crap from the moment you wake up?

Does anyone else feel like this? I wake up and from that point my eyes are tired and I have low energy. I don't get it. I take all sorts of vitamins, I work out regularly, I eat normally, I seem to be getting decent sleep. I have a hunch it has something to do with my sleep. I woke up at 6 am this morning after about 2-3 hours of sleep and felt fine, then I went back to sleep til 10:45 am and now I just feel like complete garbage. Maybe less sleep is better. Anyone have any thoughts on sleep and how it can effect your mood?

Its the same with me, when i get 10 hours of sleep or more, i feel terrible for the whole day! I'm supposed to feel refreshed and in a good mood... but I'm really tired and in a bad mood :[.. And the less sleep i get, the more energy i have in the day and the more positive i am. Also, when you sleep do you frequently wake up at night, or do you stay sound asleep for the whole night?

Im the same..i feel like crap when ive woke up im so tired and drained really struggle with my sleep,my body clock is completley screwed up,so ive been trying to get it back on track recently.Sleep seems to be one of those really tempramental things..

If you sleep too much it just seems to make you more lethargic and stuff, and obviously not enough and you get the same.I think its one of those things your going to have to experiment with yourself to get a good balance.I hope you make some progress though cos it sucks when your sleep is out of sync.

Panda- No, I don't stay sound asleep at all. I will wake up atleast 5-10 times or more. It sometimes seems like I get blocks of sleep, like for an hour then I will wake up fall back asleep for an hour and so on. The thing is that I cannot control it so I feel almost helpless because no matter what I wake up ton and never get a really deep restfull sleep. It's like I get to the outer cusp of getting a deep sleep and everytime I wake up it resets it.

Dan- Yeah i agree that sleep is such a tempramental thing. It's like an hour too long or too short and I am screwed for the entire day and there is nothing I can do about it. Then on the rare occasion I do feel good I always forget how many hours I slept so I have nothing to base it on. It's also hard because I can't just say ok I am going to fall asleep at 11 pm and wake up at 6 am. I can never tell when I will actually fall asleep, I could end up falling asleep at 11:20 or at 1:20 it really isn't under my control. I think I am going to just get up the first time I wake up. I would rather feel good with only having a few hours of sleep rather than feel like crap and have 10 hours. I have a feeling that my body feels this way because I wake up, feel awake and then force myself to fall back asleep which like you said screws up the body clock. I think this is a huge key to me feeling better, because days when I don't feel lethargic my anxiety goes way down.

I cut out caffiene and have slept like a log ever since, stopped drinking anything with caffiene in; coffee, tea, coke, hot chocolate etc. drank either decaf or just plain water, feel more awake in the mornings too and it also helped reduse anxiety by a considerable amount.

I was drinking strong coffee before hand, I had to stop under doctors orders as I was suffering sever reflux (which also disturbs sleep) found I was so much better generally after cutting caffiene out

Same feeling, although mine escalates during the day. Its lingering depression/low self esteem, it just saps your energy. I eat well, sleep well, take vitamins, do some exercise, and still I feel kinda crappy. So like I say, its depression.
