Exercise?

OK, so I'm using the internet access at the gym having just done a half an hour workout. As always, the sweat is STILL pouring down my forehead even though I finished my workout an hour ago and had a jacuzzi and a shower since then.

And I was just wondering how much exercise you guys get, considering how difficult it is for us sweaty people - is the sweating so bad that you just don't bother with exercise or do you manage to work out regularly?

And if you do, have you found that it reduces your overall sweating?

Just wondered if I'm wasting time and money on all this gym malarky!!

Usually a long hot shower followed by turning down the hot water til it's a little on the cold side helps me.

I have to dry off thoroughly, put on socks right away, and then go lay down for a bit with a fan on my hands and feet too to make sure I completely dry off otherwise the sweating can re-trigger itself.

I wouldn't let the sweating keep you from exercising though since that's just good for your overall health.

I wouldn't say it's reduced my overall sweating or increased it. Hyperhidrosis isn't fitness/weight related. At least it doesn't seem to be. I'm like 5'8 and about 130lbs... far from being overweight... quite skinny actually...

I feel exercise is important for not only physical health, but just as importantly mental health... particularly when you have HH. If I can, I'll exercise before work...it might just be a pyschological thing but I like to think it gets some of the sweating out of the system.

As for worrying about sweating whilst actually exercising - there's no way I'm going to let that get to me. Never. I sweat like crazy when doing exercise, but so what. If there's anywhere where you should be allowed to sweat, it's at the gym. :D

I wouldn't sweat too badly but i do go quite red round the face more than a normal person should, i think maybe its just the pigment of my skin so yours could just seecrete more sweat longer than other people after you exercise, who knows, our bodies are different afterall

Yea same here Sidney.

When I was younger I used to go out all the time, couldn't sit in one place cooped up inside or I'd go crazy.

Now that I'm older and more self-conscious about my HH I tend to stay indoors more where it's air conditioned so I'm less likely to start sweating from heat I'm a lot less tanned than I used to be so my face does get pinker/redder and it shows more than it used to.

Also, like JP81 said, it's good for mental health. That and when you see results from your exercise you tend to be more confident about your physical appearance.

the part about you staying indoors more... thats a really good example of how HH fucks ppl up. totally changing someones lifestyle to the worse :(

Pretty much. And people who don't have HH either think it's not so bad or just don't understand the severity of HH and the effects it can have on someone who has it.
