Compulsive list making

So I've kind of heard of this one before, but I wanted to see if it's common.

A few weeks ago, I was watching a DVD in my room. A few minutes in, I started thinking about how many movies I had and in what decade they were made. A few minutes after that, I had torn up my DVD shelves and was scribbling out what movies were made when.

I have dozens and dozens of index cards in my room, just filled with pointless lists. Favorite books, favorite movies, music (like I don't know what I like or something).

Not all of them are on paper. Sometimes I'll just walk up to my movies or videogames and think "Hmm, I wonder how many are foreign" or "what percentage of these have I watched with my girlfriend?" Then I'll actually count them out and do the math.

Anyone else do this or something like this with lists or list making?

Not so much with lists, but with diaries. At the end of each day I have a compulsion to write down a summary of my day. While it will be nice to look back on these someday, they are really annoying. I know what you are talking about though...putting pen to paper. OCD is absolute hell!

I have this OCD trait as well.

I tend to make countless lists of random topics.

In my planner I have lists of goals to achieve, things I need to buy, etc.

I have a small notepad that I keep in a small leather book that has lists about items I own, traits I have, goals to achieve, basic lists on how to live life and what not.

It's actually been a long obsession of mine where i have to make and keep lists on my computer of any topic that itnerests me or what not.

Oh, oh oh you are making me cry! (not really, being ironic)

Please don't ask me how many lists I've made...about a thousand I think..I write everything down I need to remember...I have endless lists stuffed in bags..and then I throw them all away afterwards. How crazy is that?! Thinking I may have OCD..*goddam*! Just another problem to my endless list of them! How did my life get so messed up? *Bloody hell* were's God when you need him?! Where is he?! Hellooo God, can you hear me? Apparently not..

Omg! Omg! Omg! Wooooo hoooo! Someone can relate!

I really thought i was the one. For me though the list is in my mind and i don't write them down. For example i will think about my cd collection and i think of a band and i list all their albums in my head, and sometimes the tracks obsessively. I feel that i go crazy with it all!

It's as if my mind is telling me that it wants to play a game...And the game is memorizing things for no reason. If i don't do it i begin to feel panicky.

i only recently started list making. Although i find it relaxing....
I made a list of all my videogames
of my OCD compulsions/thoughts
of my friends
what i spend money on
It helps me concetrate and get on with my day after it's done!

I am the List King.

well... not really, but i do have a huge list of everything i want to buy.. from movies to furniture to items of clothing to a trip to the dentist.
everything that i eventually want to buy you name it i have it written down.... on 'The List'. lol.

i also write down all the music i want to hear... there's so many bands out nowadays though that i cant really blame myself for that.

my problem is that every once in a while, like every 3 months, i feel the need to delete it all, then redo it all again.... ? i have no idea why i just get the urge to wipe it then build it all up again and again. but only mildly... i wouldnt want to waste time doing something like that.

OCD can help sometimes

I have been trying to use my OCD force to my advantage recently. When you use it for good it can be very powerful. In order to make some extra money I went to http://cashcrate.com/996129 and started repeatedly doing surveys and offers and have been able to make some good money side money. Its like an outlet for my OCD that simultaneously helps myself and family
